Thank you to all of my friends for your comments in the past couple of months. I'm doing my best to keep in touch.
Had my surgery on June 20th and am slowly recovering. At least I'm not totally debilitated by it - just minor annoyances. -- At least it's giving me time to get all my postcard exchanges into the mail. (www.PostCrossing.com)
I have been doing more photography and although I don't feel I have much that I want to post here, it looks pretty damn good on our new Windows Media Center and 52" LCD flat screen TV. Sometimes I can't believe that I took those photos. -- Do you find that you're your own worst critic?
Gearing up for the cruise to Alaska next month. It's a repeat of the one we did in 2003, so it will be interesting to see how things have changed. Most of all though, it will be great to spend a week with my parents, sisters, their hubbies and grown kids.
Hope everyone is keeping well. It certainly looks like those I'm watching are very busy posting art, photos or writing.

Long time no update...

Hey! Good to see you....oh, by the way Happy New Year. It has been a long time since I last made an appearance here.
Not much new; I've been off doing a bit of travelling, taking a few pictures, dealing with personal and family issues, and, yes, spending lots of time in other parts of cyberland.
Was on Oahu for the last week of December '07, then boarded a cruise ship on Dec 31. What a New Year's Eve party that was! Cruised around the islands for 7days and returned to snow and a rather miserable spring up here.
I've been taking TaeKwonDo lessons since January and having a lot of fun with that, though I didn't seriously get into it until March. Yeah, old dogs like me can still learn some new tricks, lol, and I have managed to pass my first testing.
I was expecting to have some surgery in January, but due to staffing problems and cancellation of OR dates I still haven't had it. Hopefully it will come this month or next so I can be recovered before our Alaska cruise in August and our trip to England in September. Look out, London, here I come!

New submissions finally! Hope you drop by and have a look. All comments, critiques, suggestions for improvement welcome.
Most of the pics go along with previously posted ones - more from Alaska in 2003, our driving trip down the west coast last summer, our visits to the west coast of Vancouver Island in '05, '06 and '07.
I've been keeping my camera smoking with sessions at a Grad Fashion Show, Graduation Day, a recent battle of the bands, and various other family and community events. -- I've had my Nikon D50 for a year now and have taken over 10,000 shots. -- Now we just need a few days without rain so I can get out and get some local views.
As far as the Deviant Directory Project goes, Jake (interseting) and I are in the middle of re-working the Genre categories to make them a little simpler to look through. He gave me a first lesson in basic html last night so that I can do some of the linking of sections on my own.
Once again I have over 1,000 deviations on my watch list plus about 75 journals to catch up on, so if you're wondering why I haven't been to your gallery for a while, please be patient, I'm getting there.

1) Do you like animals? - Yes, in general. Don't have any pets, but wouldn't mind having a cat.
2) Have you ever met an online friend in person? - Oh yeah, and it was great fun.
3) Are you athletic? - Not in the least
4) Are you thin fat, athletic, etc.? - Etc.
5) How much do you weigh? - More than I'd like to.
6) Whats your height? - betw 5'4 and 5'5"
7) Shoe size? - usually 8
8) What are you? - I have no idea.
9) How old are you? - Three times the age of lots of my friends
10) Birthday? - November 25
11) Do you like to recieve gift art? - That would be the best gift ever.
12) Are you sociable? - Most of my friends say so.
13) Do you have many friends? - Yup - both online and in person.
14) What's your race? - Human female, most of the time.
15) Do you talk to people on the phone? - Yes, but not a lot.
16) Are you single or taken? - The aliens took me a long time ago.
17) Do you eat meat? - Yes
18) Are you paranoid? - Only of those who are out to get me.
19) Do you read a lot? - I spend a lot of time reading, but not books. Mostly I read the newspapers, Nat'l Geo magazine, and tons of stuff here in DA.
20) Do you listen to music, and what kind? - I"ll listen to anything once, like the Death Metal some of my friends have been sending me - but most of my collection tends to be easier on the ears.
21) Do you play any instruments? - The FM Radio, my CD player, Windows Media Player - and I can pick out the occasional tune on the piano - haven't had any formal music lessons since Jr High school.
22) How long have you been drawing? - Drawing is not one of my art styles. I keep trying, though. My favorite art form is photography, and I've had my own camera since I was about 12 years old.
23) What's the meaning of life? - I plan to stick around until I learn the answer to that.

Much as I hate to do this, I have removed the lovely little green check marks from the "Deviations" column for all of my Friends.
Hey, you folks are very prodigious and I've already got over 1000 devs to check out. Since I comment on a large percentage of them, it takes up a lot of time. When I'm in your gallery looking at older deviations, I'll check out new ones too.
Progress continues on the 3 directories, albeit slowly. The Master List I keep on my computer grows by 1 or 2000 names each day.
Thanks to all of you who have dropped by to check out my photos. I know it's been a long time since I added anything new, but I do have some more photos in the queue. I've been taking a lot of pictures, but not many are up to my standards in terms of posting on here. I will be posting what I do have after the weekend.
